Keith has been journalist since 1987 and has reported from all over the world. He is currently freelancing while he completes some research work. From 2013 to 2019, he was the Editor of the Express & Star (E&S), one of Britain’s best-selling regional newspapers. In addition, he was also the editorial director of parent group, the Midland News Association, which publishes numerous daily, weekly, monthly and periodic titles. In 2003, he was embedded with UK armed forces during the Iraq War and was subsequently awarded the Iraq Medal and clasp for reporting from the frontline. He is a member of the Society of Editors and represents the regional press on the Regulatory Funding Company, which finances the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO). Keith spent nine years as E&S Deputy Editor before being appointed editor of its sister daily title, the Shropshire Star, in 2011. During his editorial spell at E&S, the team has won awards for its campaigns and digital output, as well as the prestigious Society of Editors Regional Newspaper of the Year accolade in 2014. A regular public speaker, Keith is also part of the Sky News newspaper review team.
