Steven Pearson is a Prison Governor and is currently in charge of HMP Garth in Leyland. He has more than 30 years working for the prison service in a number of roles, mostly in long term and high security establishments. He is experienced in all aspects of custody and is always exploring ways in which lessons can be learnt to provide better resettlement and development outcomes for those held in prison. A keen supporter of creating a rehabilitative environment and seeks partnerships to look at ways in which men can be better supported to reduce the risk of returning to prison. Steven has worked with prison service representatives overseas, including a number of prisons in the Punjab. He is currently working with colleagues from Germany exploring how relationships and networking can be beneficial to all parties.
